Pinguelo Signs with University of St. Francis

Nov 29, 2010. Arsene Pinguelo has decided to continue his education at the University of Saint Francis in Fort Wayne Indiana. Arsene is a Right handed pitcher that has been with the Oakville Royals for three seasons. Over the past three years Arsene has developed into a dominant pitcher in the PBLO, by changing speeds and being able to throw all three of his pitches for strikes.
In October the Royals traveled down south for their annual fall trip to play against US Colleges. During the Trip Arsene had the opportunity to pitch against USF, Head Coach Greg Roberts. Coach Roberts was impressed and invited him down for a visit to the University. Arsene is not just a baseball player he is also a very strong student and was accepted into the Pre- Med program.
Coach Roberts says "I am looking forward to Arsene joining the Program he has a strong arm and is going to get lots of opportunity as a freshman. His ability to throw strikes and the movement he has on his pitches will help him be a strong pitcher in this conference."
Coach Booth says "This is an opportunity for Arsene that I know he will take an advantage of. He is the first Royal player to be accepted into a pre-med program and he has shown the true meaning of a student athlete."

Melymick Signs with NCAA Divison I Alabama State University
Dec 15 2010. Luke Melymick of the Oakville Royals has decided to continue his education at Alabama State University. The 6’4” right handed pitcher is a first year player with the Royals, joining Oakville in August after there summer tryouts. Melymick came to the Royals from Toronto where he played baseball growing up. Joining the Royals and the opportunity to accomplish his dream of playing college baseball was something that Luke could not pass up.
During the Royals annual College fall trip down south, Luke threw the baseball very well and caught the attention of College Coaches. After the trip Coach Booth called Alabama State University and got the recruiting process stated for Luke. By the middle of October Luke found himself down in Alabama on an official visit and an offer was made.
Alabama State University in an NCAA Division 1 school and competes in the South Western Athletic Conference. Luke will also join Former Royals player Jahmal Brooks who is a freshman there this year.
Alabama State Head Coach Larry Watkins Says “We are looking forward to having Luke join our program and pitching staff. He is big kid, who has an opportunity to contribute as a freshman. It was nice to see Luke Commit at the early signing period. Luke will also join fellow Royal Jahmal Brooks here at Alabama State.”
Coach Booth says “Luke will have a great career at Alabama State; I am looking forward to watching him over the next 8 months and see where his development takes him.

Zealand Signs with NJCAA Divison II Spoon River

Tuesday January 18, 2011. Justin Zealand a three year veteran behind the plate for the Oakville Royals has decided to continue his education at Spoon River Community College in Canton, Illinois. Spoon River plays in the NJCAA and is a member of the Midwest Athletic Conference.
Spoon River saw Justin this past fall during the Royals annual fall trip through Illinois and Iowa. After the trip was over Justin, went on a campus visit and then chose to sign with the University. Justin says “Spoon River is the right place for me, they have the program that I want to study and I am looking forward to playing for Coach Clark.”
Coach Booth says, “Justin has made a good decision he is going to be playing in one of the strongest conferences in the country. Spoon plays a tough schedule, these next two years will prepare him to play at the four year level.”
Coach Clark says, “I am looking forward to having Justin join our program; he has a strong work ethic and brings great leadership skills. Justin will have an opportunity to battle for our catching and first base positions. The Royals have sent us quality players in the past and Justin will be a great addition to out 2011 recruiting class.”

February 22, 2011; Kyle Flemington has decided to continue his education at Houghton College an NAIA school in New York. Kyle is a four year veteran for the Royals and has excelled on the pitchers mound. Felmington will be studying Civil Engineering, next fall with the hope of attending Grad School upon graduation.
Over the last four seasons Kyle has show dedication and determination and this was most evident this fall while Kyle was rehabbing from a shoulder surgery. The last 12 months for Kyle have been a rollercoaster, but his resiliently has paid off and as he is back doing what he enjoys most throwing off the bump.
Kyle has also achieved in the classroom, as he carries a 3.5 GPA and has been in the honor roll all through High School.
Coach Booth says “Kyle has been a leader in our program the last four seasons; he has demonstrated leadership both on and off of the field. On the field Kyle has been a team captain and won the 16U Michael Kim award. I know Kyle is going to have a great college career."
Houghton College Head Coach Brian Reitnour says “We are looking forward to having Kyle join our program. Kyle will add depth to our pitching staff and we are looking for him to compete as a freshman. Kyle has been on a long road to recovery and it will be exciting to see him pitch this fall.”

Flemington Signs with Houghton College
February 27, 2010; Josh Lee-Him and Logan Karse have decided to continue there education with Morton Community College in Cicero, Illinois. Josh, a power hitting left handed hitter and first baseman is a first year member with the Royals and has made an impact since joining the program in August. Karse a speedy OF is in his second season has become a team leader since joining the Royals last winter.
The Panthers compete in the Skyway Community College Conference; in 2010 the panthers went 32-17 and were one win away from a Regional Championship. Morton is lead by Head Coach Chris Knollin, Coach Knollin has been at Morton for three seasons and set the school wins record in 2010.
Coach Booth says; “Logan and Josh have shown dedication to the program since day one. Logan travels 2.5 hours for every practice and home games, while Josh is in here 4 days a week. The commitment that these two players have shown is going to make them successful in college baseball.”
Coach Knollin says; “I am looking forward to having both players on campus in August, they are going to provide competition inside the program. Josh and Logan are both dedicated student athletes, those are the type of players that are successful at Morton College.”
The Oakville Royals would like to congratulate both Josh and Logan and there families for this latest achievement in there and academic and athletic career. We would also like to thank Coach Knollin and Morton College for their continued interest in, and support of, the Oakville Royals Baseball Club.

February 26, 2011; Andrew Forrester a first year catcher with the Royals has decided to continue his education at Valley City State University. VCSU is located in Valley City, North Dakota and compete in the Dakota Athletic Conference which is part of the NAIA.
Forrester joined the Royals in August and has established himself behind the dish, with a strong work ethic and leadership that has helped the young pitching staff. Andrew has shown a dedication to his defensive and offensive work which has paid off in the eyes of VCSU Head Coach Casey Olney.
Coach Booth says; “Andrew is going to be a big part of our success this season. The work ethic that he has shown this winter is going to help produce results for us this spring. I am looking forward to following Andrew over the next four years; he is going to have a great college baseball career.”
Coach Olney says; “I am looking forward to having Andrew in the program, he enjoyed his time on campus a few weeks ago. Andrew is going to have every opportunity to play as a freshman and he fills a need for us behind the plate.”

Ellingham and McCue Sign with
NAIA #29 Jamestown University
March 23, 2011; Brendan Ellingham and Matt McCue have decided to continue their education at Jamestown College in North Dakota. Brendan and Matt are both in their first seasons with the Royals and have been impact players since joining the program in August. Brendan a right handed pitcher has shown the ability to pound the strike zone and change speeds, keeping opposing hitters off balance. Matt one of the Royals catchers has impressed College coaches with his ability to control the game from behind the plate and is very consistent with his bat leading the Royals in several offensive categories this fall.
Jamestown College and Coach Hager had the opportunity to see both players on their college visit to North Dakota in February. The weather in North Dakota has not stopped the Jimmie’s from being one of the most successful programs in the country. James Town is currently ranked 29th in the NAIA preseason poll and has won back to back Dakota Athletic Conference Championships. In 2010 the Jimmie’s had an overall record of 40-13 and appeared in their 8th straight regional tournament. Jamestown has made two appearances at the NAIA World Series 2004 and 2008.
Coach Booth says; “Brendan and Matt should have great careers at James Town, they have chosen an institution that will bring them success both academically and athletically. I have had an opportunity to watch both players over the last year and I believe they will be ready to compete when they arrive on campus in the fall.
Head Coach Tom Hager says; “We are very happy that Brendan and Matt have chosen to attend Jamestown College. They are quality student-athletes and first-class individuals. We are really looking forward to seeing them in a Jimmie uniform.

April 7, 2011. Andrew Bolton of the Oakville Royals has decided to continue his education at Missouri Valley College in Marshall, Missouri. Andrew has been in the Royals organization for three seasons as a middle infielder. Over the past three seasons Andrew has seen increased improvements on his fielding and hitting which has lead to the accomplishment of his dream of playing college baseball.
2011 will be Andrews first season with the 18U club, Bolton played well on the Royals annual fall trip which lead to some interest from US colleges. During the month of February Andrew took a visit down to Missouri Valley and worked out for the coaching staff, after that visit Bolton was convinced his future was as a Viking.
Missouri Valley College competes in the HAAC the Heart Land of America Athletic Conference in the NAIA. The Vikings have a rich tradition in baseball with success at the Conference and National levels.
Coach Booth says; “I have had the opportunity to see Andrew grow as a player and as a person. Andrew has demonstrated a dedication and determination to the game of baseball since I coached him as a 15 year old in the OBA. I believe with his work ethic he is going to be very successful in college baseball.
Coach Velliquette says; “Andrew will be a great addition to the Missouri Valley program, he will be a contributing factor to our future success.

Campos Signs at #24 Madonna University
April 20, 2011. Daniel Campos of the Oakville Royals Baseball Club has decided to continue his education at Madonna University an NAIA school in Michigan. Campos, a speedy outfielder and left handed hitter has been with the Royals for two seasons, his dedication and work ethic has enabled him to achieve his goal of playing college baseball.
Madonna University compete in the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference and are currently ranked 24th in the NAIA National poll. Campos will join former Royal and Madonna pitching Coach Kyle Bolton as a Crusader. Bolton graduated from the Royals in 2005 and had an outstanding career with Madonna going 15-4 on the mound and receiving All-WHAC honorable mention honors in 2010.
The Crusaders have been successful over the past 6 season winning 5 WHAC conference championships and setting the school wins record with 48 in 2010. MU also advanced to the NAIA National Tournament for the second straight season and ended the year ranked at No. 10 in the NAIA Coaches' Poll.
Coach Booth Says; “Madonna University is a great fit for Daniel, over the past two years I have had the opportunity to watch Daniel develop as a player and as a person. Daniel’s work ethic and leadership are the qualities that every player need to be successful.”
Madonna University Head Coach Greg Haeger says; “I am looking forward to Daniel joining our program. Daniel posses the qualies that Madonna looks for in a student athlete.”
